Title: Unseen Fears

A caratteristic overcast evening reveals a rustic Chinese village composed of wooden structures, traditionally known as ‘Liang’, with carved panels and unique designed doors. The scene carefully frames a narrow cobblestone path that arcs around these buildings, guiding our view.

A single figure stands at the entrance of the largest “Liang”. He casts a lengthy shadow, that noticeably contrasts with the dim, yellow lights emitting from the hanging lanterns at various points, creating an eerie yet intriguing balance.

A handheld shot is employed, the camera taking circular motions around the figure and the Liang, revealing the complexity of the surrounding structures and the depth they hide within their silhouettes. This is further intensified by the soundscape of wind whispering through the buildings akin to a predator’s mawed growl.

The color grading is low saturation and high contrast, emphasizing the ominous feel of the scene. The focus shifts subtly between the enigmatic figure and the distant Liang structures, as though hinting a connection – a story to be unfolded. A narrative is quietly suggested in the space between them. The camera’s eye looks on from an omniscient overhead angle, a detached observer leaving us curious and wanting to see what’s next.
